MINDFULNESS

Bring a sense of calmness into your life with one-on-one sessions, workshops and courses.

Does this sound like you?

  • Do you live your life running about on autopilot?

  • Is your mind constantly full of thoughts and chaos (monkey mind)?

  • Are you constantly thinking about the past and worrying about the future?

  • Are you feeling stressed and anxious?

  • Do you feel you never have a minute to yourself?

  • Do you feel you are missing out on "life"?

  • Do you find it difficult to concentrate?

If any of this sounds like you - then why not Learn Mindfulness and bring calmness into your life by living more in the present moment.

Most people spend their time with their thoughts in the past, thinking about what they should or should not have done, or worrying about the future - about what might happen. Living like this you are missing out on the present moment. The joy and beauty of "now".

Jon Kabatt-Zinn defines Mindfulness as "Paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgementally".

Mindfulness is such a "buzz" word at the moment, however mindfulness has been practised for over 2,000 years - come and learn all about it and see just how much it can help with the stress in your life.

Feel the benefits

When you start to practice Mindfulness it can help you:

  • Feel less stressed and anxious

  • Sleep better

  • Improve your general well-being

  • Improve your work/life balance

  • Be able to concentrate better and make better decisions

  • Be less judgmental

  • Improve your memory

  • Have greater clarity and focus

  • Have greater awareness of your body

There is much scientific research that can back up the benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation. Meditation can change the neuro pathways in the brain  helping us to be calmer and respond rationally to situations rather than impulsive reacting. Learn meditations and techniques you can incorporate into your daily life to enjoy life now in a more fulfilling way, embracing each
moment with joy and gratitude.

Mindfulness at work

Teaching Mindfulness in the workplace is becoming more popular.

Statistics released by the Health and Safety Executive reveal that in 2017/18:

  • 595,000 workers suffered from work related stress, depression or anxiety

  • 5.4 million working days were lost due to work related stress

  • Stress/anxiety/depression accounted for 44% of all work related health cases and 54% of all days lost to ill health

Research tells us that Mindfulness can:

  • Decrease work related stress

  • Raise levels of resilience

  • Enhance creativity

  • Improve confidence

  • Increase self-awareness and awareness of others

  • Enhance focus and attention

We can deliver a variety of Mindfulness Workshops tailored for the needs of your organisation.  During the current situation workshops can be delivered via Zoom

  • Introduction to Mindfulness in the workplace - half day

  • Mindfulness, time management and managing stress - full day

  • Introduction to meditation - half day

  • Mindfulness and Stress Management  half day

  • Five week course, Mindfulness in the workplace, 90 mins a week

Our courses - Mindfulness in Schools

Trained with the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP).  Anne Frances is qualified to teach paws b and .b to young persons aged 7 to 18

paws b is a wonderful course for 7 to 11 year old.  It can be delivered as 6 one hour sessions or 12 half hour sessions.

.b (pronounced dot b)  is a  ten-session mindfulness course for young people aged 12 to 18.

They are both fun, engaging courses. They both aim to give students mindfulness as a life skill:

- to feel happier, calmer and more fulfilled

- to get on better with others

- to help them concentrate and learn better

- to help cope with stress and anxiety

Studies of school mindfulness programmes, including MiSP's curriculum, provide evidence that they have the potential to improve some pupils' behavior, psychological health, and executive functioning, including regulating attention and behaviour
